“How did you meet?”…

This is the question that people ask every time they see us. I guess because we look really good together. Hahaha! Or I guess because Aubrey is a good-looking guy (well he said he's 'gwapo'!)… or people are just curious. It all started in the internet. I think this isn’t new already. With the technology that we have now, it’s so easy to meet a partner online. Especially to those people who don’t have time to go out and socialize, net is the solution of not being single! Hahaha! This is a bit of a risky way because we don’t really know what net people are like in person. We heard or read bad stories about it… But hey there are still some who have their good stories to tell. And mine is one!

I live alone in Manila. My family is miles away from me. My means of communication to them are through internet and telephone. So one day while I was bored waiting for them to come online, I tried the site that my friend has told me about. The Filipinaheart.com… yes you read it right! This was kinda new to me back then. Yes, I have Friendster account, MySpace, etc… but a dating site?!? Hmmm…

Anyway, I registered to that site (not just to FH but to some too). My first reason was to get away from boredom… But eventually, I was enjoying it. You can meet all kinds of people in those sites. And you will also learn men's tactics. They are just too good to be true… though some are really rude and so racist. I wonder why they have to register to those sites though. I met couple of friends from different races. It was fun. My knowledge about them widened… and some of my impressions on them changed as well. Up to now, I still have some friends from net whom I still talk once in a while. So anyway, I'm mumbling again.

So what were the criteria I entered to find my Aubrey…?

• Age – 27 to 33 years old
• Education – College to Masters Degree
• Location – UK (coz our client now is UK based)
• Looking for – Marriage (Yes! Coz I think they are the people who are serious with chatting than those just looking for friends… Hahaha!)

That search resulted to a lot of guys… some are really good looking but that’s not my weakness… I like geeks, smart or intelligent guys! And yeah, guys that are young looking! So when I surfed through Aubrey’s profile, it did impress me right away. I never met a geologist that is so young looking (with glasses!) and with a very well-written profile. And everything was history after then.

We are together for around 18 months now. He’s been to Philippines 9 times already. And he stayed here from 2 weeks to a month every visit. I have been to UK twice too. Everything goes really well with us. The long distance love we have is never a hindrance. In fact, the distance is just a blessing in disguise. Because of distance, I get to receive an email (s) from Aubrey everyday (which I love the most), constant calls, surpassing love and care, and I get to travel too.

We don’t see each other that much, but once we do, it’s something we both look forward a lot. The alacrity in us is just intensifying every time we meet. We love each other so much. We always cherish our relationship. In time, at a perfect time, we wish to step on the next level, and hopefully have our family of our own. Now I’m in my deep imagination! Hahaha!
